Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and Community Safety


At Nova-Star Supported Living, we believe everyone has the right to feel safe, respected, and comfortable in their home.
We are committed to creating calm, supportive, and well-managed communities where residents can live without fear, nuisance, or harassment.


What is Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB)?

ASB is any behaviour that causes, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm, or distress to others.
Examples include:

  • Persistent noise or shouting
  • Threatening or aggressive behaviour
  • Vandalism or property damage
  • Drug or alcohol misuse that impacts others
  • Intimidation or harassment (including online)
  • Fly-tipping, rubbish dumping, or poor hygiene that affects neighbours

Everyone deserves to feel safe — and small problems can grow quickly if not addressed.
That’s why Nova-Star takes all reports of ASB seriously and responds promptly.


How We Handle Reports

When we receive a report of ASB, we will:

  1. Listen carefully to understand what’s happening and how it affects you.
  2. Record your report in confidence.
  3. Investigate promptly — this may involve speaking with all parties involved.
  4. Work with you and others (such as the Police or local authority) to agree the next steps.
  5. Keep you updated throughout the process until the matter is resolved.

Our aim is to resolve issues early and fairly, often through mediation, support, or clear behavioural agreements.


How to Report a Repair?


If you experience or witness anti-social behaviour, you can report it in the following ways:

When you contact us, please tell us:

  • Your full name and address
  • A brief description of the problem
  • When you are at home for access


If you ever feel in danger, call 999 immediately.


Once you report a repair, you’ll receive confirmation with a reference number and an estimated response time.

Contact Us

Supporting Residents

We understand that ASB can be upsetting or frightening.
Our team will provide emotional support, practical advice, and, where necessary, referrals to specialist agencies such as:

  • Victim Support
  • Local authority community safety teams
  • Police safer neighbourhood units

If you are experiencing targeted harassment or hate-related behaviour, Nova-Star will treat it as a priority case and take immediate action.

Preventing ASB

We believe prevention starts with awareness, communication, and respect.
All residents are asked to:

  • Be considerate of neighbours and shared spaces
  • Avoid loud music or noise, especially at night
  • Manage visitors responsibly
  • Keep communal areas clean and tidy
  • Report problems early before they escalate

Partnership Working

Nova-Star works closely with:

  • Local authorities
  • Community safety and environmental health teams
  • Police and voluntary support organisations

Together, we share information (where appropriate and lawful) to keep communities safe and ensure swift action is taken when needed.

All reports are handled in confidence and stored securely.
We only share information where necessary to protect residents or prevent harm, in line with our Data Protection and Safeguarding Policies.
